  • Procedure for Obtaining Data

  • Data request may kindly be made in the DATA REQUEST FORMAT available on Pune website and be sent to this office by post/courier or email mentioned above with required information such as the Type of data (Surface, Rainfall, Upper-Air etc,. Please refer Pune website), Period (From and To year / month /date or for last 10 years from latest available etc) In case of the station/Regions/Locations State.District, Station's names are (mandatory) to be furnished.

    Special information if any to furnish may be stated regarding the type of project or research study with some brief background of the Institute or Academy.

    If the data request is complete with all details then the case is taken for process. Based on the request received, NDC would intimate the cost, availability of the data requested  alongwith a format of Undertaking Certificate on the Data Utilisation. The cost for the data supply is accepted only as Demand Draft on any Nationalised Bank, favouring "Additional Director General of Meteorology (Research)", payable at Pune.

    On completion of required formalities from the party, the requested data are supplied alongwith official money receipt for the DD amount by post.

    The cost estimation of data is based on the Standard Tariff approved by the Department. Examples worked out for some of data types are shown for understanding and for a rough estimate only.   However, the correct cost of the data would be intimated to the party by the department.
