INFRASTRUCTURE AND OTHER BASIC FACILITIES
Building for Training Classes and Administration
Central Training Institute has a separate building exclusively for training purpose.
It is equipped with seperate classrooms for each course, an auditorium, a conference room and an administrative wing.
Observatory
The MTI is equipped with a well-developed operational weather observatory within the campus.
Trainees participating in different courses utilize the facility for the exploration and observational practices.
Library
MTI is equipped with a full-fledged library. The library houses more than 2500 books, Lecture notes,
Forecasting Manuals, 'MAUSAM', WMO Publications and other journals of national and international reputes.
On-The-Job Training
The trainees have hand on experience at Pune Weather Central, Area Cyclone Warning Centre
(ACWC) and at Airport Meteorological Office during their attachment as OJT.
Transport
The MTI has its own transport to cater to the travel requirement of the trainees and the faculty members.
The service is also utilized for daily trips to the main office and education related field trips etc.
Classrooms
To cater to various courses of the training needs MTI has spacious,
well-ventilated and well furnished classrooms with proper acoustics and with the state of art teaching aids and projection facilities.
Computer Laboratory and Internet Facility
MTI has a well-developed computer laboratory along with printing and Internet facilities for the
purpose of practical and project work assigned to the trainees, downloading data and information from websites.
Reprographic Facility
- Black and White (two) and one Colour photo copyier
- Two digital cameras
- Two Scanners
Hostel
Central Training Centre is equipped with a well-furnished hostel, which can provide boarding and
lodging facilities for 90 trainees. It is also provided with guestrooms for visiting faculty.
